The night after another unsatisfactory New Year party, Tim's father tells his son that the men in his family have always had the ability to travel through time. Tim can't change history, but he can change what happens and has happened in his own life, so he decides to make his world a better place by getting a girlfriend. But as his unusual life progresses, Tim discovers that, in the end, making the most of life may not need time travel at all.

Mundane life lessons of a young man growing up from his teen to adulthood. Probably a great for youngsters who begin to ask "why I am born rich/poor instead of poor/rich, tall/lean instead of short/overweight ... etc."

We really enjoyed this film, so much so that we bought it for our collection. We've become real Bill Nighy fans.

The cover art and "from the director of Love, Actually" marketing made me think this would just be another quirky British rom-com, so I was pleasantly surprise to find it had a lot more soul, with touching themes of mortality, happiness, and family. Definitely worth a watch.

Thoughtful, sweet and sensitive movie about life and relationships. Lots of funny moments but also plenty to make you think about love and loss.

This was not as great as everyone makes it out to be. I didn't even finish watching it.

Very English if you like that sort of thing.

I hope I can forget this film quickly as not even Bill Nighy could save it. Delighted I'd not paid to see it.

I was totally unimpressed with this one. Bill Nighy was the best part of this movie. His talent was wasted in this film. My suggestion is to give it a miss.

From the writer of Bridget Jones's Diary and Notting Hill, About Time is a sweet, funny and magical film. The epitome of a feel-good movie.

I enjoyed this move very much. Not only a sweet romantic comedy, but it has an uplifting message (as well as some serious parts). Glad I watched it.

And in the end I think I've learned the final lesson from my travels in time; and I've even gone one step further than my father did: The truth is I now don't travel back at all, not even for the day, I just try to live every day as if I've deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life.

From IMDb:
Tim: We're all traveling through time together, every day of our lives. All we can do is do our best to relish this remarkable ride.

Tim: And in the end I think I've learned the final lesson from my travels in time; and I've even gone one step further than my father did: The truth is I now don't travel back at all, not even for the day, I just try to live every day as if I've deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life.
===
Tim: And so he told me his secret formula for happiness. Part one of the two part plan was that I should just get on with ordinary life, living it day by day, like anyone else.

Tim: But then came part two of Dad's plan. He told me to live every day again almost exactly the same. The first time with all the tensions and worries that stop us noticing how sweet the world can be, but the second time noticing. Okay, Dad. Let's give it a go.
