This is one of the most popular of all of Bradbury's novels, and there is certainly a great reason for that. After reading this book, I also highly recommend the 1983 film adaptation (with the same title). This:…

Bill Oberst Jr. inspired me to pick this up with his library performances about Bradbury. Utterly mesmerizing. Oh, wouldn't it be nice to see Bill Oberst Jr. perform his homage to Bradbury live in a library?

"Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury is a masterpiece of mixed genres. Fantasy, supernatural fiction, and horror are rolled into one engaging book in which two 13-year-old boys try to unravel the mystery of a strange, dark…

I had hyped this book up in my head and waited literally years to read it. I didn't realize it was a middle grade book. Not a game-stopper for me but a tad disappointing. The boys seemed an unlikely pair--too innocent for almost fourteen…

Loved this book! I began reading it because I thought I SHOULD. I finished it because I WANTED to, and I'll read it again. It has a lot packed into it.

The perfect October/Halloween read and a spot on reflection on the passing of time

A magnificently written but terrifying reflection on good, evil, and the passing of time--set in a nightmarish carnival just before Halloween. MUCH scarier than Halloween Tree.

I read this because my dad used to quote the title when I was younger. The plot is spot on and it's fairy creepy.

Acclaimed by some reviewers as Bradbury’s masterwork, by others as a disappointment, *Something Wicked This Way Comes* was Bradbury’s first true novel. When I read it back in the 60’s I thought of it as a novel about teenage boys. Today…

This is one of my favorite books ever, Bradbury has a great deal to say on what it means to be a dad, he uses beautiful, descriptive language to write a timeless tale about two best friends and a father. Even if you hate horror novels -…

One of the best books ever written. Do yourself a favor and read it!!! Read it as a young adult and then read it again in college and then again when you are older. You will get something different out of it every time.

The story blends classic Americana with horror story elements to create a unique tale that is both terrifying and heartwarming. It is a tale of two childhood friends who are starting to mature, and worried about growing apart. It is a…

The book, Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, is considered a classic. And, after reading it I think I would have known that even if no one had told me. I like the quote that was used for the title a lot "By the picking of my…

This book is one of Bradbury's best-known for a reason. The idea of an evil carnival that destroys souls would have been a half-baked pie in the hands of most other authors. They would have overdone it to the point of disgusting melodrama,…

“Something Wicked This Way Comes” by Ray Bradbury is a wicked read. The idea of a supernatural and evil carnival creates a neat plot of good versus evil with its spooky rides and sideshows. The writing itself is wonderfully odd; sort of…

I listened to this story on audiobook. It was really interesting, especially with the different sound effects. There were times when I was slightly spooked out by what was going on, but overall, the story wasn't that scary. Even though the…

Not scary, per se, but a pervasive sense of creepy that is haunting. The earnestness of the two boys and the father is definitely not the kind of thing you read today, but that was the whole point, right? Classic, and for a reason.

I read this book some years ago and really enjoyedit this time around I could just not get into it. Bradbury's long overly descriptive sentences were really annoying. Might Try and give a reread some time in the future.
