Not a Metal fan, but I loved this great movie. It starts out pretty dreary, and seems to be filmed around 2005-2006, the band struggling years after their glory days, the guys working menial jobs in Canada. Then it gets comic, and ends on…

WATCH THE GROUP INTERVIEW IN THE EXTRAS. IT IS THE DOCUMENTARY'S HAPPY ENDING. This is an excellent documentary. It's definitely funny in a Spinal Tap sort of way, and you may not like Heavy Metal rock (I definitely don't), but these guys…

"Anvil, the documentary, is a hymn to the human spirit -- played loud, in power chords". So says the movie poster, and for a change a film lives up to its publicity material. "Anvil", the real-life band, is Steve 'Lips' Kudlow and Rob…

One of the best "rock" documentaries of all time. Parts of the story were almost too painful to watch; more absurd than "Spinal Tap", but unfortunately true. The personal journey of "Lips" and his buddies as they struggle to deal with…

This is Spinal Tap . . . No! This is Anvil! The real-life Spinal Tap! Like most people reviewing here--and in the world for the matter--I'm not a fan of their music. BUT, you can't deny that "Lips" Ludow is as compelling a fellow as it…

Not a fan of Anvil. Not a fan of metal really. But I really enjoyed this. I thought at the beginning it was parody or satire. But in fact, it’s a bittersweet but loving portrait of a couple of guys who are getting older and older and…

I am not a fan of Anvil's music but absolutely loved this movie. It has a lot of heart and reminds us to never let our dreams die.

A very frank biography of the metal group Anvil - their early fame from the 1980s and their current struggle for relevancy and fame in 2009. The film documents the band's struggle to make it big one last time. Excellent film.
