Lurid, salacious, scandalous, trashy tales of Hollywood stars' perversions, crimes, and misdeeds. This has got it all: adultery, homosexuality, drugs, suicide, rape, even murder. I have no idea how much of it is true. Kenneth Anger was a child star turned underground filmmaker. The library has a set of his films.

Interesting only because we get to see pictures of famous actors we've only heard about. Combined with a dollop of salacious gossip we are witness to an author with way too much time on his hands.

This book deserves its status as a classic. It tells the story of the seamy side of Golden Age Hollywood, with lots of detail and frank relish at exposing the stories the great studios wanted to keep hidden. I would recommend it to any film buff.

This book is like a hardback tabloid. I remembered reading it when I was in high school and found a copy in a used book shop, couldn't wait to reread it (couldn't put it down, finished it in one sitting). The pictures are graphic, the stories are outrageous, and the coverups were unbelievable. Hollywood has the tops in gossip, always has, always will!
