The Mindful Teen written by Dzung X. Vo is a very relatable story to me, as I myself am a teen, who feels stress every then and there. The powerful non-fiction book is about a pediatrician specializing in teen and adolescent medication that offers a breakthrough mindfulness program which helps groups of adolescents to help deal with stress in healthy ways, improve communication as well as reduce conflicts with family and friends. I really enjoyed reading this book as many do not understand that age doesn't matter when it comes to the detrimental effects of mental health. We feel stress too and some may even be depressed. However, this story shows that no matter what dark place we are in right now, there are ways to help cope with these negative emotions and ways to stay calm in a healthy manner. This non-fictional story shows how one can unleash their inner strength and become more mindful and resilient towards different circumstances and situations. All in all, I was really into this read as it held numerous connections with the experiences I have encountered in my own life. I would recommend this story to anyone facing any type of mental weakness, and just needs a boost of motivation, especially to teens and adolescents, who would be able to relate and connect with this book on a higher and more emotional level. 5/5 stars
