Add a CommentAs others have said, this is a book you can just read and enjoy. You almost feel that Greenspan is just talking to you and trying to make sure you can replicate her recipes. Each recipe is given with a bit of background, mostly main-stream ingredients, and advice on timing, storage, breaks in between preparation, cooking and serving. Greenspan also provides a lot of tips on how to recognize what mixtures should look like when stirred, beaten, heated, baked enough. This is very valuable to the solitary cook working with only 'by guess and by golly'.
Lovely presented book with outstanding recipes.
This is a wide repertoire of simple-yet-elegant modern French food, including a few items inspired by other cultures. Beautiful to look at and good reading, even if you don't ever take knife to board.
As always, I love books that have recipes that are naturally gluten free, or easily adapted. This is one of those. Dorie Greenspan is a wonderful cookbook writer.
It all just sounds so delicious that I could read this book instead of eat. I recommend the cheddar crackers.
Just started going through this cookbook and I am enjoying it. The recipes seem to be clearly written and will be easy enough to try.
This looks like a great book. I want to try all of the recipes.
A personal book that explore's Greenspan's joy in French cooking. A lovely book on sharing the pleasures of the table.
