Grade preK-3rd. A young Black girl raises her hands to dance, to give high fives, and to stand up for what's right.
Raising your hands up high can be helpful for everything to putting on a shirt to high fiving someone to raising hands or signs in resistance at a protest march.

Comment
Add a CommentA bright and joyful celebration of an African American girl growing up strong, proud and confident. The bold, colorful illustrations show her in all kinds of life situations: as a baby raising her hands to play peek-a-boo, then later a teen holding a sports trophy high, and finally as an adult holding a sign that says "Lift Every Voice" at a community gathering. An inspiring storytime read-aloud for preschoolers or early elementary students.
