"Nova Huang knows more about magic than your average teen witch. She works at her grandmother's bookshop, where she helps them loan out spell books and investigate any supernatural occurrences in their New England town. One fateful night, she follows reports of a white wolf into the woods, and she comes across the unexpected: her childhood crush, Tam Lang, battling a horse demon in the woods. As a werewolf, Tam has been wandering from place to place for years, unable to call any town home. Pursued by dark forces eager to claim the magic of wolves and out of options, Tam turns to Nova for help. Their latent feelings are rekindled against the backdrop of witchcraft, untested magic, occult rituals, and family ties both new and old in this enchanting tale of self-discovery." -- Provided by publisher.

This was such a cute story and perfect for the fall, especially around Halloween. I adored the artwork and colors. I loved all the diverse rep in this story. I really wanted the story to continue. After I finished reading it, I was content with the ending but I didn't want it to be over. It was such an adorable read and I'd definitely recommend it.

Maybe it’s because I don’t read a lot of graphic novels, but I felt a little lost at times. The graphics were gorgeous and I loved Nova and Tam but I would have loved a little more back story.

It felt like we jumped right into the story without enough information and I think a few extra chapters would have made it that much better.

All in all I liked it! Really cute story and some great representation.

This book has everything I love in it. There are witches and magic, dark forests and cozy autumn scenes, lots of tea drinking, precious lesbian grandmas, all kinds of rep (non-binary!), wonderful chemistry between our two leads, and general sweetness absolutely oozing from the pages.

This book felt a little like starting a brand new TV show on episode 3: early enough that I can still catch on, but I can tell I've missed some foundational information and world building. But there was a lot that I loved about this book. The artwork was whimsical and lovely, the vast amount of representation (disability, non-binary, LGBTQ, and more!) was killer, and the love story made me smile. So all in all, a worthwhile read

I love the LGBTQ+ representation and the story was so heartwarming to me it's everything !!

This book does an excellent job for inclusivity, but the story didn't grab me. This is more of a light teen romance than an adventure story. I wish the world building had more depth. There are lots of interesting concepts - witches, werewolves, forest spirits. But all of it is a backdrop for a thin story about 2 young adults coming back together to face a classic "big problem."

For a light read that lets people see themselves in a story, this was a nice book. It just wasn't what I was looking for. I would recommend this book for early teens.

This was such an incredibly cute book with magic and werewolves and queerness. It was a very quick read as I read it in one sitting before bed but my fast pace could also be attributed to my MS readathon participation and my goal of 15 books this month.

I loved that they had an established relationship so they're romantic relationship grew from there. This helps add a lot of connection and backstory quickly to a the story.

I think if this had been a novel we would have learned more about Tam's parents and family situation which would have been interesting.

Nova's parents coming back as ghosts pretty much just to harass her about her life choices also seems incredibly on point as I'm pretty sure that is the only reason parents would come back to haunt their children. I like that her Grandparents are supportive of her no matter what she wants to do.

I liked the inclusivity with Nova's hearing aids and Tam's pronouns. They were a subtle and welcome inclusion into the story.

This is an adorable story with beautiful art. The main characters are LGBTQ and I love that the books doesn't make it a huge deal - they are who they are, and the adventure continues! Adults and teens alike can enjoy this quick, sweet graphic novel about coming of age, magic, family, and friends.

A super sweet coming of age graphic with diverse characters. Nova and Tam are both trying to figure things out, on their own. Friendship, family and love play central roles in this beautifully illustrated story.

This was the ideal book to curl up with in my comfy chair and my fluffy blanket. It was so sweet, and the illustrations are truly magic. I loved the strength and confidence of the characters and how they all had so much faith in one another. Swoon!
