Charlie knows that he won’t have a chance with Nick but falls for him anyway. They quickly become friends, and unlike what Charlie previously thought, maybe even something more…This graphic novel was perfect for destressing during finals week. It was a quick read that I could not put it down, and I was smiling the whole time. Their relationship is so heartwarming and left me feeling so happy. Every single character is adorable, and I appreciated how the author addresses homophobia and mental health in the book. If you enjoy cute romances or need something to cheer you up, you’ll definitely love Heartstopper!

WOW. I can't believe I waited so long to read this.

Obviously it was devoured in less than an hour. I JUST LOVE THESE SOFT BOIS.

Art, amazing. Story, adorable. Book, TOO DANG SHORT!!

I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the volumes. Gonna go put them on hold at the library now!!

Heartstopper is a book that is full of positive energy, hope, and love. There are some roadblocks along the way, such as Charlie's "evil ex", and Harry, the unkind bully, but overall, this book is a refreshingly sweet story of two friends shifting slowly to become "more than friends."
I will advise readers to be aware of a traumatic scene between Charlie and his ex. The ex was using force to kiss Charlie, and it was unsettling for me. But like I said, overall the book is very light and bright. I highly recommend it.

Heartstopper is a delightfully sweet, and charming story about two teens falling in love. It's simple and innocent narrative told through beautiful illustrations added a quaint kind of charm to the story.

I flew through this graphic novel and I loved every minute of it! I can not wait to read the rest of the series!

The story here is so simple, but it feels so authentic. Alice Oseman is a queen of the relatable, and I love the dialogue and the way she used smiley faces and little teeny character faces to show emotions/who was speaking/etc. It made it all even more adorable.

Sometimes you pick up a book and just know it's going to hurt you in the best way. This first volume in an ongoing story of two boys figuring how to be themselves is sweet, funny, and so incredibly *readable*. Pages will flip as you go on the journey of Nick and Charlie's friendship, and watch through your fingers as they stumble into maybe something else. It's amazing how a writer can do so much without having prose to support the feelings and possibility conveyed in each image. Alice Oseman is skillfully superb at that. Be forewarned: If you're getting ready to read the first one, have the second on deck. You won't want to stop there, at all.

So Heartwarming and romantic. I love the LGBTQ+ inclusion so much. It was one of the best graphic novels I read so far in the year. Hope you all give it a read !!

I don't read a ton of contemporary, but Heartstopper piqued my curiosity when it was floating around Instagram earlier this year.

Alice Oseman is super good at establishing character in a short amount of space. I enjoyed seeing both Nick and Charlie grow over the span of the first volume, but I was also charmed by the appearances of Tao and (later) Tara.

I loved how Oseman developed Nick's and Charlie's relationship. It was executed nicely and the progression felt organic. And honestly? Really really adorable. I live for how dorky both of them are.

TL;DR - This is a good pick-me-up/feel-good read. I got so much serotonin from this book. Requesting that EPL order Vol. 2 & 3 right away.

If you're looking for a story with meaningful LGBTQ+ rep, an appropriate and responsible handling of various serious issues (among the most serious tackled as yet are homophobia and mental health issues), and a very cute romance with a lot of positive relationship habits and attitudes: this is the story for you.

I eagerly anticipate every new part of this story.

Light on character development, heavy on blossoming adolescent queerness and cute/gay romantic tension buildup. If you want a feel-good graphic novel that doesn't demand too much of you emotionally, this is a good pick. It's not a saccharine, happy-go-lucky kind of story, but I'd only rate the drama/intensity around a 4 out of 10. Looking forward to #2!
