Absolutely wonderful book showing the grand homes--some still standing, some not--along the NW 19th street corridor and blocks adjacent. Familiar and forgotten names of Portland's "finest families" and the architects who built their homes are featured on each page. There's also a handy map detailing the locations of each home featured. What fun to walk this neighborhood, stopping along the way to discover whether a home still exists or has been razed, reconfigured or re-modeled. If you are enthusiastic about turn-of the-century architecture or just a PDX history buff, this book is for you!
