Comment
Add a CommentI really like this book and I think it can be both good for young kids and older kids. It talks about motivation and even things like skin color or race and I love what it says. "Like a winner I'm here to win and if I don't I get up again." "I know that we dont look the same our skin our eyes our hair our frame, but that does not dictate our worth we both have places here on Earth" The book is short however it still makes an impact and it can inspire people.
This was beyond beautiful, it was perfect and everyone needs to read it.
A book about identity. The narrator describes herself as many things, but also makes the commentary that even if she is similar to some things, we are not meant to be exactly alike. Differences do not dictate our worth, and the overall message is on the last page: "I am enough."
A wonderful book for a discussion on diversity! Simple text matches lovely illustrations and thought-provoking messages. One of the last lines "we are right here to live a life of love, not fear..." resonated with me in light of all of the violent conflicts around the world, as well as the conflict that can be inside any of us if we are deeply troubled. A great read aloud.
Wonderful self-esteem builder and beautiful pictures.
This picture book is an great addition to any book collection. It is universal and beautifully written ode to female self worth. I can see this book being given to a new sister, a new kindergartner or graduating senior. The text is clear, concise and melodic and Bobo's illustrations are warm and welcoming.
