This was a great introduction to an author previously unknown to me. eBooks are generally not my preferred medium, but this book selection fit it well.
Lopez is an environmental advocate with educational beginnings on the opposite side of the fence. He praises nature and wildlife and solitude. His descriptions are so well-though. His words are descriptive enough to paint mental pictures and recall tactile memories.
The writing was captivating, and then he blew me away with so many words that I'd never heard. And well-utilized, not forced. "What a smart guy", I found myself thinking.
If you like birds and animals, mountains and streams, give Lopez a chance. I plan to read more, to give a better feel for his breadth.
