Personally, I think this is Robert Greene at his best. However I am sad to say that someone has defaced this book. There are huge sections that have been underlined and highlighted. A terrible shame.

This book prepared me on the second or third reading for a huge confrontation that I felt ready for...and won.

The historical events described in this book are organized by the type of strategy. Although the strategies discussed here arise mainly from historical conflicts, the lessons can be applied to today's personal and professional lives. It is amazing to see how history repeats itself, through the behaviours of our family members, friends, co-workers, peers, etc. After reading this book, I can pin-point the strategy the person is using and actually understand why s/he is using it.
