This excellent program was made in the 1970's yet feels fresh and vibrant. I knocked off half a star for the dopey music score, which took a long time to get used to.

I had never heard of this book or the series on DVD. I enjoyed it very much, although I found the opening scenes a bit slow. The characters are great, and I got addicted to the theme song. I wish the DVDs could be digitized as I feel this is a lovely part of our history. The scenes with the early air machines were wonderful.

For once, a Young Adult historical romance that does not patronize either its viewers or the past. Flambards is set in the flip side of Heartbreak House, Horseback Hall; an excellent place if one likes riding, killing, and drinking, and a horrible place if one lacks an independent income. But as WW I approaches, there is literally a new spirit in the air. The young protagonists, chosen for their acting ability as well as their looks, are backed up by some of the unobtrusive greats of British theatre and television. One flaw: an insistent earworm of a soundtrack, which will drive you insane if you listen too closely. K.M. Peyton's original books are also highly recommended, but be warned: this is a Young Adult series, not Downton Abbey.

So cool that this DVD is at the library. I was looking for the books to read, didn't know there was a TV series of it. Really looking forward to watching.

At the beggining i was a little hesitant to watch this series but as it progressed i started to really like it. I like the storyline and the characters and thought it was a sweet story.

This is what the musical soundtrack sounds like. I wish I were joking; "mom, mom, MOM, mom...Chris-TEEEE-na....la, la, la,....mom, MOM, mom..."
