Outstanding story of a humble man and a genuine American hero. Controversial at the time of its release as propaganda and pro-WWII. One of Gary Cooper's best performances, of whom the real Alvin York solely chose for the role. Those eyebrows they plastered on Walter Brennan were HILARIOUS. Great film. FIVE STARS.

Wonderful movie, Cooper is great as the real man behind the story. FIVE stars is not enough. A must see.
