A vividly-hued, genre-bending story that mixes westerns, war films, melodrama, and traditional theater, all in a hyperstylized rendition of early Thai cinema. A pair of would-be lovers struggle against class, family, and the mob to be together. Rumpoey and Dum meet as children during a war evacuation to the countryside. Ten years later they meet again, but now Dum is a notorious gang-member known as Black Tiger, and Rumpoey is a rich debutante facing an arranged marriage to a young police officer.
