There is wisdom here, and some unsubstantiated dogma, wrapped in a messy package of intriguing ramblings. I read it cover to cover, and devoured every moment of it, but found myself bouncing between really helpful "ah-ha's" I could immediately apply to my training, scratching my head trying to figure out what he meant, and disagreement based on current research and personal experience. Women beware, he does make the all-too-common mistake of devoting dozens of pages to male-specific guidelines, and then slips in an obilgatory single sentence stating that there are some differences for females. I think it is a fascinating book, but I'm not sure it's a good recommedation for folks just starting out with lifting. Get some experience under your belt before you dive in, and then enjoy the mania!
