I read this book in grade school when there were only 2 books in the series. I remember being absolutely obsessed with it, doing every book report on it.
I decided to reread as an adult for a taste of nostalgia, when I found out that the author had written 3 more sequels.
I was not disappointed. I was transported back in time through the Author's strong use of imagery and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

This was one of my favorite books growing up, and it still shines today. Cara falls into a fantasy land (literally) and meets a creature that isn't supposed to exist: a unicorn. Full of magical characters and a compelling plot, I can't wait to read the second (even though I've already read it)! If you love unicorns and adventure, this is the book for you!

This has always been my favourite book. I've read it at least five times. I love the world that Bruce Coville built - it's so fantastic.

this is such a good book! It starts off exciting and stays that way through the whole series, it is so hard to put these books down

I started reading this book just to moniter what my son was reading and I got hooked by the story! I ended up reading the entire series, which turned out to be so much fun to do along with my son and talk about the characters and who/what we liked/disliked. Great details, the picture was clear in my head.

This enchantingly wonderful book starts out with Cara and her grandmother Ivy heading home after a visit to the library. They think it's a perfectly normal day. But is it? No. Cara realizes that someone-a dark, mysterious, red-headed someone- is following them. He chases them into a church, where Cara's grandmother freaks out and tells her to jump from the highest level. Is she crazy? Cara has no choice but to trust her, so she jumps off the church towards the sidewalk-but falls into a wonderful land of things Cara thought were only fairytales. In Luster, Cara meets Lightfoot, a rebellious young unicorn who goes with her and the Dimblethum (a kind, hermit sort of creature who is half man & half bear) on a dangerous mission to talk to the queen of Luster, Arabella Skydancer. There are mix-ups and setbacks on the way in this phenomonal book by Bruce Coville. Join Cara on an awesome adventure today! [Series: Unicron Chronicles #1]
