My husband and I really enjoyed watching this, partly for the story of Zora Neale Hurston's life, but almost equally for the many video segments of everyday African Americans during her era. They're shown moving about in their daily lives -- especially interesting to see them playing, singing, and dancing. There are good interviews with modern-day African-American authors and scholars, as well.
