Imagine being able to summon up the e-memories of your great grandfather and his avatar giving you advice about whether or not to go to college, accept that job offer, or get married. The range of potential insights is truly awesome. But Bell and Gemmell also show how you can begin to take better advantage of this new technology right now. If I had to guestimate the most common verb in this book, it is "will", for all of the silly assertion he constantly makes, and claiming that they are all inevitable, due to technology. How absurd! Technology is not a hurricane: it is people that make it as a result of their conscious, intentional, voluntary actions, and with some incentives that are clear as day (more money, more (higher) status, and more power; and all at the expense of the suckers (aka consumers)). Mr. Bell also invests his own money into such technology. Throughout the book uses the rhetoric of authority ('x is the case', 'y will happen') to make points he ought to be providing reasons for.
That said, its nonetheless very interesting and some of the ideas are good.
