1982's "Pornography" is for the serious Cure fan, not the one who just likes "Friday I'm in Love" or "Love Song." It finds them moving away from the spare, Joy Division-inspired postpunk of their earlier records into the moody, swirling, goth-art sound that would define them. Released in 1982 when the band was just a trio, It's one of their darkest, least radio friendly albums, but also one of their best. You'll want to break out your black and make up for this.
