Choose the 'Crimson Star' columbine, the 'Lucifer' crocosmia, and the 'Gardenview Scarlet' bee balm. For a metallic garden plant the Japanese cobra lily, the Chocolate cosmos, and the Kamchatka fritillary. Or, create a multicolored array by picking plants from each category. Garden expert Fischer brings together his horticultural knowledge in an arrangement of blooming plants by color. This is an interesting approach for a gardening book, and the spectacular photography by Clive Nichols makes this a book for pleasurable viewing as well as garden planning. The scientific name of each plant is provided along with advice on the most successful varieties and appropriate zones for planting. A compact but vibrant book.
