What an excellent author! I really enjoyed this book. An incredible story that was hard to put down. 'Finding Casey' is a continuation of this book and is also one you'll want to read.

Solomon’s Oak by JoAnn Mapson
…opens with a pirate wedding under the historic oak tree. Glory Solomon, newly widowed and nearly broke, finds herself hosting a wedding in the chapel her late husband built. As the wedding guests swashbuckle their way through a sword fight an armed man appears. Fortunately Joseph, an ex-cop, is convinced to shoot with his camera rather than with his gun and the wedding is a ripping roaring success. Then because things always come in bunches, this is also the day Glory is asked to take in Juniper, a 14 year old foster child—tattooed, pierced, angry. Three hurting people, dealing with loss and pain, help each other while caring for rescued dogs and horses, coping with the complexities of family relationships and surviving the realities of high school.
