This was okay. It had its moments but at times it just felt a little over the top. Often it was super sad though.

The travails of suddenly intelligent chickens become an elaborate metaphor for racism, the Holocaust, and dispossessed minority groups throughout history. A poignant story with beautifully rendered art. Worth comparing to Brian K. Vaughan's graphic novel "Pride of Baghdad" which uses lions to talk about the costs of war, Grant Morrison's tortured experimental animals in "We3." or the epic masterpiece of Holocaust remembrance that is Art Spiegelman's "Maus."
