I wish so many plots weren't so predictable, especially when it comes to romantic angles. You could see this was all leading up to a GRAND BETRAYAL. Meh. Not to mention so many appalling tactical decisions. She comes across as a very ordinary person in an extraordinary situation so things that unfold just don't compute.

Review excerpt: "In promotional materials, the book was described as “Robin Hood meets Star Wars,” though I’d warn it’s more of the former and less of the latter, at least in this first installment. There’s a slow burn romance between two characters whom I came to adore, an exciting cast of secondary characters, and big secrets. What it was missing most, though, was momentum."

Very different from Bouchet's fantasy romance series, but this was a lot of fun. More romances should be set in space. It will be quite interesting where Bouchet takes readers next in this series.

The library should not buy ebooks that can't be downloaded with overdrive or libby.....waste of resources....why have ebooks if we can't download them!
