I really enjoyed this book. My sister recommended it. I hadn't read anything by Elizabeth Berg but now will be a fan! I enjoyed the easy read and her quirky thought process...felt very comfortable...like the character was someone I could know and care about.

"chick lit" romance for women over 40. a quirky love story with a satisfying ending. elizabeth berg satisfies once again.

It had it's moments but I wasn't swept away.

I am always down with an Oprah's Book Club book, for the most part - there has to be something to millions of people reading a liking a single book.

So I picked up "Open House" on a whim as I walked by - that if my other two "shop by the cover" didn't impress, I had something that is an easy, entertaining read.

Not one of the best of the club, but still worthwhile to read. I was feeling anxious about work, and my ability to do a good job during this novel, and the character's feelings played right alongside. Definitely a subtle novel.

I'm surprised this is an Oprah book.
