I saw this guy on Austin City Limits sometime ago and I was intrigued by him,and have been looking since to give his stuff a listen. I find him quite the talent, his playing and writing are top notch, but my wife found his lyrics pretty pedestrian on this release.Me I'm to wrapped up in the infectious grooves he's laying down to concern myself about the lyrics.

Is it soul? is it R&B? Is it Blues? Whatever it is, it's great. Pleasantly, Motown-retro... reminds me of Jackson 5, very early Steve Wonder...cannot feel blue, and cannot sit still while listening to this. There is even some DIck Dale in here somewhere.
