Opinion

From Library Staff

A bumbling store clerk accidentally releases a horde of Deadites when he misremembers an invocation (see title of this list). A sequel to the previous two Evil Dead movies, but stands on its own.

Quite probably the finest film ever made - - or nearly!

Hilarious, campy horror at its best. Great one liners. Bruce Campbell is the King, baby!

This is a really stupid movie, and I can't believe all of the good reviews. I saw how well it was rated and decided to try watching it, but after seeing half of it I had to stop. I'd give it zero stars out of 5.

One of the Chin That Walks Like a Man's finest hours. (Which is his finest? -- all of them!) Bruce Campbell is ridiculous and handsome, the Deadites are deadly, and the laughs keep coming. To chime in with Kikokun, if you and children can watch this movie together, you did a fine job in rearing them. Kudos.

All right, you primitive screwheads, listen up:
This is one of the greatest movies ever, and good fun for all the family (kids 6 and up).
The gore - and pretty much everything else - is a ketchup-fest played for laughs.
But you have to be on in the joke, which obviously some of the reviewers aren't.
Bruce Campbell truly shines and this is the movie that made him into the cult hero that he has become.
Some of the quotes have become a permanent feature of modern pop culture.
You owe it to yourself and your kids to grab some popcorn, watch and laugh together... for endless repeated viewings, for many, many years to come.

Easily the least of the Evil Dead trilogy, pretty much abandons all horror and instead goes for an extremely silly take on a Jason and the Argonauts style adventure flick.

Sam Raimi's over-the-top horror trilogy concludes. Not for the squeamish!
