This book hooked me the minute the main character stated she didn't believe in fashion, she believed in costume. Lola is a budding costume designer living in San Fran with her two dads and dating a punk rock musician. Life pretty much seems awesome and she's looking forward to her last year of high school. Then her neighbors, the Bells, return after several years away. Now Lola must deal with the crush she had on Cricket Bell, who incidentally happens to be madly in love with her. Is it possible to be friends with someone who's in love with you? Will her romance with the musician survive Cricket? More importantly, will her Marie Antoinette outfit for the Winter Formal get finished in time?

Enjoyable read. Anna and the french kiss is still my favorite but this did have some moments that made me swoon. Love love love Cricket Bell and all his weirdness.

Stephanie Perkins is brilliant. She excels at creating adorable characters with flaws that keep them human. Lola is a delightful protagonist with her ever changing costumes, her slightly overprotective dads, and budding detective best friend. Cricket, of course, is a brilliant counterpart (ignore the slightly ridiculous name) with his inventions, his writing on the back of his hand, and the baggage that comes with being the sibling of an Olympic contender. Put Lola and Cricket together and there is great drama and so many moments worthy of swoonage. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.

I loved the character of Cricket, he was the definition of "the boy next door'. I really liked how Lola's family was set up, even if her mom was kind of crazy (her dads were awesome). But Lola in general, stole the show.

I enjoyed reading this book and it was really neat how the Anna and Etienne came back. I didn't like it as much as I liked Anna and the French Kiss but it was still a fun read.

I loved this book! Lola is very extreme, which added some entertainment and lots of detail.
