Conservative activist Jason Mattera simply decimates left-wing celebrities and their enormous hypocrisy from Leonardo DiCaprio and Alec Baldwin to Bruce Springsteen and Paul Hewson. (Like Mattera, I refuse to call a nearly sixty-year old man simply "Bono.") While pointing their pious fingers at us knuckle-dragging simpletons for such wasteful activities like heating our homes and driving to work, they're out on their private jets and in their spacious mansions creating an enormous carbon footprint - that is when they're not committing tax evasion. Of course, for the left, "do as I say and not as I do" is their stock-in-trade. Just like white liberals who scream "rayyycissm" while living in nearly all-white neighbourhoods and sending their kids to nearly all-white schools, their hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness is simply unparalleled. Thoroughly researched, the one chapter that was a real eye-opener dealt with Arianna Huffington, the wicked witch of the internet. While paying absolutely nothing to 9000 bloggers who helped her climb to the top of the search engines, she ended up selling her website to AOL, pocketing over 100 million dollars and giving her writers zilch. For someone who claims to be a die-hard liberal, it's truly disgusting to read about her past and what she did; the equivalent of being a modern-day slave trader. Kudos to Mattera for writing this book in an informal and entertaining style. With this country electing an idiotic part-time drama teacher as prime minister, never underestimate the power of celebrity when it comes to influencing our politics.
