I was rather confused by the storyline, but that was only because I failed to read the first one (thought that this was the first) :p but I still liked the book.

Didn't you read book one? We (humans) are like ants whose nest gets zapped by lightning, nothing extraordinary at all to happen in the world, but far beyond ants to comprehend. Similarly, "the wave" may be nothing extraordinary at all in the universe, but beyond our comprehension to understand. So, therefore, I have conceived of applying for a government grant to see if ants can be taught to comprehend lightning. That should do the trick.

Final installment! It was quite a good read though I wish it were more action and less suspenseful and I would still love to know what caused the bubble/wave/whatever-it-was that set this whole series of events into motion in the first place.
