Polkinghorne undertakes a survey of all the major issues at the intersection of science and religion, concentrating on what he considers the essential insights for each. A deep thinker with a leadership career in particle physics and in religion sees these as complementary views of the universe. He is an Anglican priest but his analysis is almost entirely theist not Christian, more spiritual than what one might think of as religious. Wonderful first book in the rich literature on the topic that has been written in the last 20 years.
