This volume was entertaining. I can't say it was super deep or intellectual or anything like DMZ by the same author. But I'm not sure if it's fair to judge the Viking's series in comparison to DMZ, the various Viking subcultures for the most part led fairly simple and/or brutal lives. But the series (mostly) comes off as a graphic novel of action serials clipped from a 1950's newspaper, nothing hard hitting like other emotion-bending (DC)Vertigo fare such as: DMZ/Sandman/Y The Last Man. But I enjoy reading this series, since I've grown up out of superheroes wearing tights and theres not a lot of decent adult fare out there.
