Overall not a bad summer read. A woman torn between a world of what a "proper lady" does and says, an alcoholic/abusive husband, and a world of happiness.

This is an excellent read, especially the backstory about the loggerhead turtle migrations; beautifully written. While the story is a little predictable, Monroe does a good job. There were two things that drove me nuts though: The author often started a sentence with "I swanny" (no idea what that means) and the other quirk is that she ended statements with question marks and leaders. For example, "I know that?..., I'm going to wear this dress?..."

The book was okay – but not one of my favorites.

I really enjoy this author, this was a great book about a woman who is torn between her southern notions of what a lady should be and following her heart.

Great beach read for anyone familiar with the beaches of South Carolina - romance and great information on the loggerhead turtles
