VERY GOOD previously unseen by me post WWII 1950 'Lush and Lusty' (from trailer) romantic dual couple musical comedy starring swimmer Esther Williams who is also quite a talented actress. The film's initial smaller swim-dance routine didn't work for me - dance needs more leg work than swimming typically allows. But the film's highly staged near end 'Melody in Swimtime' large scale costumed swim-dance sequence was quite good.
There were some new faces (for me) - beautiful Paula Raymond who plays a major role as one of the ladies in the dual couple love story. And big band singer Connie Haines who appears as part of the film's musical group was also new to me.
There are several fun songs, including 'Choo Choo Choo to Idaho' and brief cameo performances by singers/dancers including top tap dancer Eleanor Powell who gets told to 'do something' - and sure does, also beautiful 'Light Egyptian' Lena Horne, and others.
The film has fun visit to Idaho's Sun Valley with a large visitor complex/hotels/show rooms, etc. - and skiing after the snow falls. The potato dance competition where couples dance together while holding a potato between their foreheads and awarding 'Duchess of Idaho' to couple lasting longest was pretty amusing.
Make sure to see the Lena Horne version of Cole Porter's 'You Do Something To Me' outtake included in the extras - excellent!
