The 5 S's saved our sanity when we got to the period of purple crying. At about 6 weeks, our son started losing it for 1-2 hours every night before bed and then he'd wake up every hour, all night long. I was getting pretty desperate for some real sleep so we used this book to help take him from that to going to sleep pretty painlessly and staying asleep for 6-10 hour straight within about a week. Things got a lot easier for us once we started using this book.

Also, our son was ridiculously hard to burp for the first three months and nothing we tried was working until we used the milk shake technique in this book. The jiggling in general not only helped tame the beast, but it made him burp at the same time! Lifesaver.
