This story is a bit simplistic in its design. A crazy mother whose stories are not grounded in reality and full of imagery raises a daughter, who in self-defense, is 100% logical and grounded in the here and now. What happens though, as the truth of mother's stories start coming to light? It's a whimsical story which seeks to understand a great sadness which broke her mother's connection to reality, and explains her other eccentricities. What I don't buy is the romance that develops, yes dumping the first guy is all well and good, but to engage with someone else right away, makes this story less potent than it could have been.
