I think that no matter who you are or where you are from, you will find someone in this book who touches you.

A great coffee table book to start interesting conversations. I love how the author finds beauty in the ordinary and in the extraordinary.I found the book to be an affirmation in self confidence and truth. Beautiful. I find I enjoy the blog now as well.

Fantastically beautiful and inspiring and compelling, just like the blog: Love the background bits that are sometimes provided in the book about the people or getting the shot.

"This photographic census of New York City, inspired by and based on the blog of the same name, contains 400 colour photos of, well, the humans of New York. It pairs portraits of children, commuters, ballet students, couples, hipsters, injured cyclists, and many other types of New Yorkers with quotes ("I got car doored"), captions, mini-essays, or snippets of conversation. While most are full-body photos, others provide close-ups of faces -- or feet! -- and colourfully capture the many possibilities that a stroll through New York offers." Outstanding collection of pictures, each made tremendously more stimulating because of the captions that accompany them. Not sure whether this provides a true representation of NY, but it is awesome nonetheless

Beautiful rainbow spectrum! So different from the mostly homogeneous people of my city. I'm planning a trip to New York- can't wait to "people watch"!

Such an interesting back-story to this collection of excellent photos. If you haven't heard of HONY, check out his facebook page, or any of his other on-line work. He's not just a wonderful photographer, with an eye for what makes a great shot, he's also a humanist with an ear for what makes a great story in very few words. Highly recommended!
