""Come to my bed," he whispered in her ear."

Creepy much? And no thanks, I'd rather not.

I never knew I was a vampire romance reader until this! J.R. Ward is basically writing a soap opera drama with vampires and a smidge more violence. :) Definitely a book I would re-read!!!

Wow! If only these vamps were real.

An amazing book to pull you into an even more amazing series. Instead of faceless, two dimensional characters, you meet a cast of butt kicking vampires you find yourself dying to know more about (no pun intended). Just the right balance between suspense, action, romance and adventure!

The start to this series definitely has me hooked! I enjoyed the building of this setting and the solid mixture of characters. I will definitely be continuing to find out what happens to the other Black Dagger Brotherhood members and their friends.

Wow - I really enjoyed this book. What a great start to a great series.
Story of Wrath (the blind king) and Beth (half vampire/half human). Steamy, sexy and overall exciting.

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There also exists a secret band of brothers like no other - six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Among them, none relishes killing their enemies more than Wrath, the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood...The only pure-bred vampire left on the planet, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But when one of his most trusted fighters is killed - orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate - Wrath must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead...Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn't there before, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of brotherhood and blood frighten her. But his touch ignites a dawning hunger that threatens to consume them both...

Great book and somewhat addicting. I wish however that I hadn't read this book with high expectations. I am sure that I'll enjoy the series more and more as I continue on with the rest.

Loved that the book had more meat than just a happy-ever-after romance. Loved that it combined my love for UF and romance. Good action and introduction of intriging characters with hilarious names! Even Butch got a tough-guy name! Maybe a clue that he's a part of this... Wrath certainly is an interesting character. His blindness and insecurities make him unique.

I wished Ward had given me more with Beth's transition into a vampire. There was a lot of suspense leading up to it and I expected more. I guess since she's half human the change wasn't entirely that drastic.

Look forward to the next one.
