I love all the Curtis Black books. It is so true and lets people know that Pastors are just men, they are not Gods.

In this supposed Christian Fiction novel, there wasn't one likeable character in the bunch.

Everyone was in some way self centered and failed to live up to what they preached or professed to believe.

This particular book is part of a series about the Black Family whose patriarch is a big name preacher who fell from grace due to some sinful doings, which took place in previous installments. Apparently the first lady of the church also has some very salacious doings in her past.

The book focuses on the preacher' s two sons, from different women. The oldest, the pastor denied and has only recently been accepted into the fold, after the son exposed his father's scandalous past, again played out in previous installments. The second son separated himself from his family after his mother did some very underhanded and illegal things to discredit the son's wife.

It was a very easy read and not very enjoyable, only because of the over the top characters and situations.

I would only recommend to people who are following the series and want to keep track of the goings and comings of the characters.

Please note, this can be a stand-alone book. You do not need to read the others to make sense of the story.
