I liked this book by Maz Evans. This book is about a boy who let a God out of prison and is trying to stop from getting the earth stone. The Characters in this book are Elliot Hooper, Virgo, Thanatos, Charon, Hypnos, Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite, Hermes, Hephaestus, Mrs. Porshley-Plum, and Josie Hooper. Zeus, Elliot, Athena, Hermes, Virgo, Hephaestus and Aphrodite are trying to get the Earth Stone before Thanatos and Hypnos. This book is in London and many other places. I liked how the Gods were trying to help Elliot after he freed Thanatos and how their teamwork was like a team that has been together for years except they were together for a couple days. I also liked the ending of the book with Elliot tricking Mrs. Porshley-Plum. One thing that iIdisliked with the book was that there wasn’t enough action for me. There were many conflicts between all the characters but mostly between Elliot and Thanatos. There was a lot of humor and this is one of my favorite parts of this book. The Dynamic Characters are Elliot, Thanatos, Hypnos, Zeus, and Virgo. I think you would like this book if you like Greek Mythology. I recommend this book.

When I read this book, I was drawn in and couldn’t pull out. The book had diverse characters, their personality, was well made. This book is about a boy and his mom, the boy’s mom has some sort of short term memory, kind of like dory from finding nemo (or finding dory if you have seen it, its relatively new). The boy has a neighbor who wants to buy the families land, and the boy must protect it. Then a immortal comes out of the sky and the boy befriends her. The immortal takes the boy to a daemon cell and he is released. Then the boy and the immortal seek help from the council, a god run council. Then they retrieve the earth stone, a stone that enables the user the power or earth. Then they protect the boy’s property and that’s it… Have fun! (reading the book, what else?) what I like about the book was the diverse characters, the easy to understand plot, very straight forward but could have been more suspenseful and give that feeling “NO! CMON, YOU CAN’ T DIE NOW! What I disliked was that the book was too dream like the gods were completely on Eliot, the boy’s side. Even though he released the daemon. I believe that this book would be a good read for preteen. But in theory everyone could read it and enjoy. I would recommend it to anyone because you wont ever know if like it until you try it.
