The improbable tale of a young countryside-bumpkin-soldier-in-training who single handedly takes down an empire of oppressive goons who mess with her world. Subhash Ghai has a knack for these sort of tales but this time around the beauty of the first half of the film suffers greatly from the absence of A.R. Rahman's music (former musical collaborator on Ghai's masterpieces 'Taal' & 'Kisna' ) also the plot was solid but execution was very poor. Veteran actors were made too look like fools in many scenes and the newcomers just looked stupefied in others. Perhaps next time Ghai should direct and leave the editing and writing to other people? Also, evidently he needed more producers as the action scenes looked like they were shot in the 1970s due to zero allowances for high tech in the budget. Blink and you'll miss a cameo appearance by his 'Pardes' leading lady Mahima Chaudhry in a party scene.
