WHY IS THE BELOW COMMENT IN ALL CAPS? I feel like they're yelling at me. First John Grisham took you into the Firm, then he gave you the Pelican Brief, then he introduced you to the Client, and now he takes you into. . ."The Chamber"! Spoiler alert: it's the gas chamber. One of the many Grisham adaptations of the 90s, this is one of the more serious as it takes on the death penalty. Chris O'Donnell is a wet behind the ears lawyer who defends a racist death row inmate who set off a bomb years ago that killed two children. And it's his grandpa! Gene Hackman, who fought the Klan in "Mississippi Burning," is the Klan here. The actors are pretty good, but the movie is heavy handed and pretty boring. Faye Dunaway, Robert Prosky, Lela Rochon, and Bo Jackson (!) co-star. Maybe Hackman really wanted to be a lawyer because he was also in "The Firm" and "Runaway Jury." This was one of a number of death row/prison films of the 90s (also see "Dead Man Walking," "The Green Mile," "Shawshank").

INTERESTING STORY. GENE HACKMAN LOOKED TERRIBLE WITH HIS LONG UNKEPT HAIR.
NEVER DID FIGURE OUT FAYE DUNAWAY'S CONNECTION. WAS SHE A GRANDMOTHER? POOR AUDIO WITH MUMBLING AND LOW WHISPERS, HARD TO FOLLOW. MAYBE IT'S MY AGE.
SAM DESERVED HIS SENTENCE.
THE KLAN WERE TERRORISTS

A muddle of political correctness. Hackman is brilliant, but his character wears thin toward the end.

Just like any other religious, political & bounty-criminal-circles, the kingpins hiding in their safe-offices, far-away from the killing-fields, order the bloodshed.

For many, LOYALTY TO THE KINGPINS takes them all the way to their grave.

THE VICTIMS & THEIR FAMILIES, seem to include many more than just those who end up in gas chamber.

VERY INTERESTING PICTURE, REVEALING, the heavy-price of crimes, under ANY other name.
