On July 3, 1938, A4 London Pacific Northeastern Railway streamlined locomotive named Mallard broke the world speed record for steam, 126 miles per hour. This feat would never again be equaled by any other steam locomotive. In 1988, Mallard appeared restored to her beautiful blue livery to full working condition. This one hour program follows Mallard for a tour of the York-Harrowgate-Leeds-York circle on the 50th anniversary of her record-breaking run.
