"Suicide must be investigated--especially when a Royal Navy sailor kills himself on a nuclear submarine, only days after his wife's brutal murder. Now Lieutenant Danielle Lewis, the Navy's finest Special Branch investigator, must interrogate the tight-knit, male crew of HMS Tenacity to determine if there's a link. The main character is hard to like; she's so antagonistic toward everyone. But she is determined to get to the bottom of a supposed suicide and rape that she's sure are connected. When it's obvious that the Navy brass doesn't want her to figure things out, Dan forces her way onto the submarine as it heads out to sea, and disturbs the entire crew. I stopped reading when she was obviously going to be court-martialed and still wouldn't confide in her former partner, a tactic that nearly got her killed last investigation.
