1. From wiki: In Buddhist teaching, Trivisa is the Sanskrit term for the three poisons (or the three unwholesome roots): greed - 貪, anger - 怒 and delusion - 妄想 that give rise to suffering - 痛苦. Perfect description of the three criminal minds and their fate.

2. Won best film, best director, best screenplay, best editing and best actor in 2017 36th Hong Kong Film Awards.

3. From the interviews in "Extras," the film makers wanted to make a film to reflect the violent money-centric culture during the transfer process of sovereignty from UK to China in 1997.

4. South China Morning Post review:
The film is bookended by news footage from 1997, complete with mentions of the Sino-British Joint Declaration and the pledge of 50 years unchanged. Its ostensibly apolitical narrative charts the crisscrossing destinies of three notorious criminals – loosely based on the real-life figures of Yip Kai-foon, Kwai Ping-hung and Cheung Tsz-keung – before fate catches up with themon the eve of the handover.

The arrangement for Hong Kong contained in the agreement are not measures of expediency. They are long-term policies which will be incorporated in the Basic Law for Hong Kong and preserved intact for 50 years from 1997. It is the common interests as well as shared responsibilities of China and Britain to ensure the Joint Declaration is fully
implemented with no encumbrances.
