I'm going to try and explain what to expect from this series. 1. I was disappointed when I started reading these books because I was expecting more romance. Be prepared, there is very little romance. It's more supernatural/action. 2. The author created this world with so much going on it made my head spin. There are vampires, demons, mages, witches, gods, ghosts, faeries...plus a few hundred more (I'm serious). It was just too much. 3. The heroine is pretty much in the dark throughout the whole series (she doesn't understand her powers or what she needs to do) and yet manages to survive the numerous attempts to kill/capture her. The situation gets a little old when she has survived the 50th attempt on her life by what appears to be dumb luck. 4. And yet, despite all of these complaints, I got sucked in. There is some witty dialogue, and I like the author's writing style. I might skip a page or ten, but I want to know what happens to the heroine and how the story will end.
