In the irresistible second installment of the New York Times bestselling Chet and Bernie mystery series, which has been hailed as "enchanting [and] one-of-a-kind" (Stephen King), Chet gets a glimpse of the show dog world turned deadly. What first seems like a walk in the park to wise and lovable canine narrator Chet and his human companion Bernie—to investigate threats made against a pretty, pampered show dog—turns into a serious case when Princess and her owner are abducted. To make matters worse, Bernie's on-again, off-again girlfriend, reporter Susie Sanchez, disappears too. When Chet is separated from Bernie, he's on his own to put the pieces together, find his way home, and save the day. Spencer Quinn's "brilliantly original" (Richmond Times-Dispatch) and "masterful" (Los Angeles Times) series combines genuine suspense and intrigue with humor and insight for a tail-wagging good time readers won't soon forget.

As with the first book in the series, I found myself laughing out loud a few times in the break room, while reading this book. I am not a frequent reader of mysteries, but so enjoy the voice of the canine narrator that I am once again reaching for the next book in the series. These books are wonderfully funny, exciting, and truly joyful reads!

As a mystery, it was rather "eh" - but that's not really why people read these books. The real draw of this series is Chet, our faithful canine narrator.

There is something so compelling to dog lover's (like myself) about imagining what a dog's inner voice sounds like. And Spencer Quinn scratches that itch with perfection. Chet is so charming and loyal and goofy and forgetful and well-trained (until he's not) that it's clear that the author has bonded with a dog or two in his lifetime.

Light, humorous, and easy, these are delightful books to pull out at those times when real life has become complicated and stressful.

I enjoy the way Chet rates humans by their kindness to dogs. What a hoot! In this book, Spencer Quinn teases the reader with too many of Chet's side stories. He needs to have Chet digress into the side stories because they are as interesting and funny as the main story line.

I fell in love with Chet in Dog On It, and this is more of the same. I think Mr. Quinn just might be part dog. A very enjoyable, entertaining read. Can't wait for more.
