Elevated by none other than the King of the Mantle of Dracul, she goes from high-school theater wannabe to glamorous fiend overnight. Meanwhile, her guardian angel, Zachary, demoted to human guise as her personal assistant, has his hands full saving his girl's soul while planning a fast-approaching Death Day gala. In alternating viewpoints, Miranda and Zachary navigate a cut-throat aristocracy as they play out a dangerous, diabolically witty love story for the ages.

This is one of my favorite books, I can read it over and over again and still love it.

I kind of liked her book Tantalize so I thought I would try this one, but I didn't like it. The characters were unsympathetic and it just seemed kind of strange.

Putting vampires and angels into the same world just felt wrong to me. It was slightly redeemed when the vampires' souls came into the picture, but the holy / unholy connection just didn't work for me. I felt as though, for the amount of times Miranda narrated, she never truly shared her thoughts with the readers. This put me off a bit. Also, Zachary's reaction to having his angelic qualities removed seemed a bit out-of-character to me. The tattoo reference is dumb. But those are just me being nitpicky. I did not think this book was well developed.

It was a pretty good book, bu was boring at times. As Carine_Dominique_Lavoie said it does not continue from the first book, so it doesn't matter if you read this first and then "Tantalize". I like how the author made this series, it's different. She wrote two stories, "Tantalize" and "Eternal" and then combined the characters in the third book "Blessed". So far the first two are good, and I'm sure the third will be just as good. :)

Angel and vampire mix, story was really good but does not continue from the first book "Tantalize".

I want to rip out my heart and hand it to her. I want to fall at her feet. To hell with the mission. To hell with me. I want to change sides.
Then I smell pumpkin bread and the blood. I see the plate of crumbs and the bowl on her desk. Notice the stain on her lips. Remember all that hell implies.
