It’s Christmas Eve. Snow is falling gently and all is quiet as Farmer Brown happily prepares for bed, having hung up the Christmas lights and his stocking with great care.
Suddenly there is a noise outside on the roof. Assuming it is Santa, Farmer Brown quickly gets into bed.
However, it isn’t Santa – it’s Duck, playing Santa and delivering Christmas gifts!
Duck does not have Santa’s knack for sliding down chimneys with large presents. He quickly becomes stuck.
In turn, Farmer Brown’s other animals – the sheep, cows and pigs - climb up on the roof to unstuck Duck. They also become stuck in the chimney. No one can move.
Then Santa and his reindeer arrive….
Of course (as always in the hilarious stories about Farmer Brown and his animals,) mayhem ensues!
Children will savour this latest picture book gem by popular author Doreen Cronin.
